Over the years I have participated on a numbers of BJD forums. Then for one reason or another I have to stop for a while. I tink there was only one case where I had some warning so I could move or save my work and even then I lost a lot. Recently I checked on another only to find myself staring at some odd page telling me that the domain was for sale. Why is it that some forums out there survive so much longer than others and the ones that, I personally, think should disappear...don't? I find myself disappointed, sometimes a bit angry to have to not only wonder what happened to my art but to the people I connected to through our dolls. Mind you...I am not the greatest or most talented artist but I do enjoy reading the stories and looking at the works. I find it sometimes aggravating to lose so much. However I still jump at the chance to reconnect and to make new friends when invited to a new forum. Tell me..have you gone through this? How do you feel about it and how do you handle the loss of a forum?

Iv never become that attatched to a forum to become that upset about the loss.. I did make this forum in hopes it would thrive, Im kind of afraid that it will be a failure like most everything else I try...

Just keep up the good work and you will do fine. As for attachment to other forums, is that because you are so busy with other things? Until recently you could say I had no major ocus besides my kids and my dolls.

I think forums die because there are so many and we have so little time. It takes a commitment of time and energy to contribute reguarly to a forum. Some are quite small but thrive because the people have not only got a lot in common, but have become friends. I have my forums grouped in my bookmarks so I visit them all M-F. I must admit that Proboards has become my favorite forum set up-I like the like buttons and shout out. When it comes to saving work-especially photo-stories, I know alot of people have gone to Weebly and created a website for their stories.

I have decided to make a commitment of time to this forum. Another tiny forum I really liked has died and I felt bad because I hadn't made time for it. I will make time for this one!
