*Note for those of you joining us late, Khefri isn't having a punctuation malfunction towards the end, his native language is a click language*
Being a man used to solving his own problems it has taken Hajime awhile to confide in the small person at his side. He forgets that despite his child like pleasure in living, Khefri is really much older than him, a trained warrior and very much an adult man.
Khef leans against Hajime, listening to Haji's soft tenor voice explain about the spirit inhabiting his body. The young elf shivers, at home spirits and demons are always malevolent because they too are trying to live on a burnt out, depleted world.
~
So that's what I have worked out so far...
Haji's voice trails off and Khefri nods
~
Without speaking, the young elf shifts to his knees and wraps his arms around his lover's neck. His finger's softly brush the shaman's cheek. Long slender finger's grasp the elf's other hand in an almost death grip.
~
Khefri..
~
I'm scared...
~
and that's something I am not used to..
~
Khefri chuckles
Oh Hajime, welcome to the Warrior's Path.
~
In truth, I would be much MORE worried if you weren't scared. Overconfidence is the worst weapon to have in your arsenal.
~
Hajime shivers, his hand tightens for a moment on the young elf's hand
I think I understand now why Tamas talks everything over with Nicholas. Thank you, Khefri for listening.
~
Hajime jumps down from his perch and walks tensely toward a low wall nearby. Khefri sprints after him and jumps up onto the wall when the lanky shaman pauses prowling restlessly
~
Khefri? Will you take my hand and stand beside me, no matter what the future brings?
~
Without a moment's hesitation, the young elf grips the slender fingers of his lover.
Of course Hajime
He scowls up at the taller man
When did I stop being your Spear Brother and lover and become your ka@th!!ka?
~
Hajime winces, he doesn't know that word but the tone of contempt that accompanied it makes it very clear it is not a compliment
~
You're right, Khefri, I will remember, I promise.
This one was kind of off the cuff, so forgive me if it's a bit lacking.
