SO we always ask the how. I decided to ask the why. Not why you got in but why do you continue?. BJD are notably expensive and their clothes cost as much if not more than our own Then there are the various treatments....facials, manis, pedis, tats etc..the possibilities are endless. Tell me what makes the BJD hobby still so attractive to you. I'll start.....
Though it is an expensive hobby, I find that it has become the creative balance in my life. When things get crazy, the story I started writing around 7th/8th grade slips to the forefront of my mind. I want to keep writing it. I escape into it. My dolls have become a physical extension of that story and a way to combine everything artistic that i love to do. I can write, sew, and photograph or sketch...and all for the sake of my art. The result is that my story has not only gained a life of its own, but they, my BJD, have given it a chance to change dimension, grow and continue. Also, more importantly, I have become quite attached to my dolls regardless of age and condition. Don't get me wrong...those who need to evolve, will evolve. The remaining shell will house...perhaps offspring or...worse..mwahahaha.
Your turn.

My dolls spark my creative imagination. I have tried and continue to explore new art forms because my dolls demand stuff. Old loves that I never got to explore like dollhouses have entered my life. A lifetime love of miniatures has found its expression in my dolls. Since I started collecting bjds, I have written more stories, sewn, painted, made furniture, sculpted clay, painted, photographed, crocheted, knitted, drafted patterns, made hats... My dolls are an endless source of inspiration.

I find the artistic possibilities BJDs brings a big pull for me and so many of the dolls are quite nice to. With so many things to do it can be hard to foucus on just one thing. Currently i really want to be able to make clothes for them but i just dont know where to get patterns that would fit them.

Patterns aren't that hard to ind if you know how to sew etc. With Foxxian's permission perhaps I can start an index here like the ones on DOA for avid crafters like us. Not just sewing but crochet , knitting and furniture too. we shall see.
